Most nonprofits are not missing funders. They are missing the filter.
A database will hand you 200 opportunities in an afternoon. Most of them are ones you cannot apply to, at ask sizes you cannot justify, with deadlines that already passed.
The work that matters is the subtraction. We screen every opportunity against eligibility, geography, the funder's actual giving history, and an ask capped at 20 percent of your annual budget. Every deadline gets verified on the funder's own site, not pulled from a database.
What comes back is the handful worth your time, with the ask amount already set and the reasoning written down.
Grant writing is deep, solo craft work - reading, thinking, writing, revising, checking in with you at every step. Being an Executive Director is: fundraising, management, board wrangling, hiring, firing, partnerships, et cetera. The list never ends.
